Quality and variety, under one roof

For more than seven decades, Komnik & Franck has been part of Namibia’s commercial landscape. Founded in 1954 by Anton Komnik and George Franck as a manufacturing representative business, the company has evolved considerably over the years. Since 2015, under the ownership of Jürgen Cronjé, it has grown into an established wholesaler supplying hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, lodges and guesthouses, as well as corporate companies and major retail customers.

Today, that evolution is reflected in a new space. At the beginning of September, Komnik & Franck officially launched its newly revamped and more spacious showroom, creating an accessible warehouse-style environment where customers can see, explore and select from its growing range of products. For Dawn Fourie from the marketing department, the company’s focus has always been on providing the best possible products to lodges, hotels and the wider hospitality industry. The showroom now takes that philosophy a step further, offering customers a place to engage directly with the products and with the people behind the business.

In Namibia, word-of-mouth often still takes precedence over social media and digital marketing. This traditional sentiment favours in-person relationships and networking. A physical, central space such as this showroom therefore creates an opportunity for clients to come and explore for themselves.

There is a practical appeal to having such a variety of products gathered in one place. As Komnik & Franck’s product range has expanded, additional storage and display space became increasingly necessary, particularly with new additions such as Cavelli Linen products. The result is a showroom designed with the hospitality industry in mind, bringing together the everyday essentials and finer details that help shape guest experiences.

“Our aim is to provide a one-stop option in Windhoek. Rather than customers having to rush from one end of the city to the next, we offer an all-in-one, smooth and seamless ‘pick-up-and-go’ experience,” explains Dawn. From luxury bedding and hospitality necessities to Jura coffee machines, tea, wine, seasonings and other amenities, the range is deliberately diverse. There is also room for something more bespoke: Komnik & Franck can accommodate custom-made products such as bathroom mats embossed with the name of a lodge, allowing businesses to bring their own identity into the finer details of their spaces.

At the heart of it all is a simple commitment to quality. For Jürgen, the emphasis will always be on uncompromising, durable quality. “The brands sells itself. Customers know that when they walk into Komnik & Franck, they can expect quality,” adds Dawn.

While the showroom has a particular appeal for the hospitality sector, it is not reserved exclusively for businesses. Members of the public are welcome to visit the showroom, browse the range and make use of the knowledgeable sales team on hand for assistance. After more than 70 years, the company continues to evolve. The new showroom is both a reflection of that growth and a return to something more enduring: the value of seeing a product in person, speaking to someone who knows it, and finding what you need under one roof.
