for the 2024 Face of FlyNamibia

VOTING HAS CLOSED. THE NEW FACE OF FLYNAMIBIA WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON 1 AUGUST.

It’s that time again… FlyNamibia is on the lookout for our 2024 ambassador – the Face of FlyNamibia! This is not a model or influencer search, but rather a call for aspirational, authentic and proud Namibian content creators and storytellers to enter.

As part of this year’s entry requirements, the finalists had to complete a social media challenge. They had 3 days to complete the challenge.

Now it’s the public’s turn to vote! So check out the videos below and pick your favourite. One vote per email address.

We are looking for interesting content which also showcases their personality in some way. Authenticity is key! It doesn’t have to be a Hollywood movie, but should showcase their skills, eye for beautiful content and how they can best showcase Namibia – in a unique style!

THE CHALLENGE
Create a 60 second Instagram reel showcasing your hometown, its unique culture, cuisine and the activities you enjoy doing. You can choose to focus on a specific location, activity or event if you wish. This should not be a tourism marketing video, but rather a local’s guide to a town, city, event or experience told from the perspective of someone who lives there.

HOW IT WORKS FROM HERE:

  • The Top 10’s challenge entries will be posted on the FlyNamibia website for public voting. This will account for 50% of their overall score. Voting will be open from 23-29 July.
  • Voters will be allowed to vote once per email address.
  • The FlyNamibia team, comprising employees from each department, will vote internally for their favourite based on the skill, style and quality of the social media content challenge. This will account for the other 50% of your overall score.
  • The new Face of FlyNamibia will be announced on 1 August.

Dates and deadlines:

Open for entry: 10-17 July
Top 10 announcement: 19 July
Social media challenge deadline: 22 July
Public and internal voting: 23-29 July
Winner announced: 1 August

Our internal selection committee’s decision is final and accounts for 50% of the final score. The results of the social media challenge contribute the other 50% of the finalist’s overall score. The Face of FlyNamibia will sign a year contract with the airline, receive a small retainer amount and should be able to travel at least 2 days every month. 

Competition Terms and Conditions for Entrants:

Entrants must:

  • Be over the age of 18 years
  • Be Namibian citizens
  • Employees of FlyNamibia and their immediate families are not eligible to participate.
  • Previous winners are not eligible.
  • All entries must be original and created by the entrant.
  • Each participant may submit only one entry.
  • Incomplete or late entries will not be considered.
  • The winner will be notified via email and announced on FlyNamibia’s official social media channels.
  • Be willing and able to travel by air at least once a month (in both an Embraer and smaller aircraft)
  • Be willing to sign a modelling and brand representation agreement with FlyNamibia for the period of 1 year
  • Not have an existing model or brand representation contract with another company.
  • By entering the competition, participants grant FlyNamibia the right to use their submitted content for marketing and promotional purposes without additional compensation.
  • Finalists agree to participate in promotional activities related to the competition, including photo shoots, interviews, and events.
  • Consent to their image being used for advertising and commercial purposes for the period of the contract and beyond.
  • Consent to the content they create during the course of their Face of FlyNamibia contract being the exclusive use property of FlyNamibia.
  • Consent to the image/images they have used to enter into the competition being used for marketing this specific competition if they should make it into the Top 10.
  • FlyNamibia reserves the right to disqualify any participant who breaches these terms and conditions or engages in any unlawful or inappropriate conduct.
